The main part of the strap is covered with the full length of a hornback crocodile.  The edges are whip-laced with a narrow black leather lace.

The adjustable tailpiece of the strap is also fully covered with hornback crocodile.  The edges are whip-laced with a narrow black leather lace to match the main part of the strap.

You get one strap like this per crocodile.  It begins just behind the croc’s eyes and goes down the center of the back to the end of his tail.  The tail piece of the strap is also completely covered with crocodile hide.  Crocodile backs are extremely tough, nearly impossible to work due to the hard plates in the skin.  I ruined several tools making this bad boy.  Yes, steel punches will bend and break on these tough hides and require a heavy hammer to have any chance of getting through.   Also notice my invisible adjustment on this strap so that no extra holes or hardware are required to be visible in the main portion of the crocodile hide.  It is a very cool strap – I love mine.  Be sure to apply some reptile conditioner from time to time to keep it from getting too dry and it should last a lifetime or two.  Black crocodile goes well with just about anything.  This strap can be sized from around 44 to 54 inches.  At present it only has holes punched for the maximum length.  Any other length requires more holes to be punched.   Crocodile hides are thick and will take a while to break in.

You can make up your own story about how you killed that crocodile, perhaps bare-handed in the muddy river or with a Crocodile Dundee style knife.  I think the hornback crocs today are of the Nile River, perhaps Madagascar, varieties, so set your story in the proper location and don't forget to mention that their hard scales or scutes are thick and heavy, like bone, making them not only extremely difficult to fashion into guitar straps, but also nearly impossible to stab or shoot unless you know what you're doing...
