The main part of the strap is covered with reticulated python.  It is whip-laced with a narrow black leather lace.

The adjustable tailpiece of the strap is plain black leather.

This is a simple design meant to show off the python skin.  This is a "belly cut", meaning that the center of the strap went down the back of the python.  "Back cuts" are sliced down the center of the back, leaving the belly in the center of the strap.  I think Randy Rhoads python strap(s) were usually back cuts, but I prefer the belly cuts.  In either case, you have to make sure the snake is the right diameter, or the pattern doesn't work on a relatively narrow strap - too much of it gets cut off.  It has holes punched to make it adjustable from about 50" to 54" in 1" increments.  Could maybe have holes added for 48" and 49".  At 48" the back strap lock would be right at the end of the main part of the strap, with almost none of the black tail strap visible.

Don't worry, that snake won't bite.  It's a good snake.  Good and dead, unlike the ones at Alice Cooper's show.
