Today GT announces a new configuration of our VibraChorus rack chorus effect module, the CS-505. This configuration compares to the Maxon Insta-Chorus CS-505 and Ibanez CS-505 Chorus pedals. The Maxon and Ibanez versions were identical internally – only the enclosure was different. Maxon built both of them, of course, just as they did many other Ibanez-branded pedals.
The CS-505 is similar to the Boss CE-2, similar enough we use some of the same boards to build them. But they sound quite different. The CS-505 doesn’t get into the spacey, sea-sick warble you can dial in on the CE-2 and many other chorus units. All the settings on the CS-505 are useful and sound great. While it doesn’t give you the over-the-top chorus effect, it does give a deep, clean, thick chorus. If you are looking for a good solid 80’s chorus that is simple to use, and you don’t need to go over the top spacey, then the CS-505 config may be a good choice. You might even consider it for an "always on" effect. We’ve been looking into some of the great vintage chorus effects lately, and this one was a stand-out. You’ll probably see a couple more chorus offerings in the months to come!
You can find more details about the VibraChorus CS-505 at VibraChorus
You can also check out the CS-505 at the upcoming Amigo Guitar Show in Ft Worth on Oct 5 and 6. We’ll be there with our Big Stack of rack effect modules for you to try out. Stop by and play!
